"El Paso Police crack a ring of burglars who may be responsible for the theft of up to a $1million worth of property. Police have made five arrests in what investigators call the break up of a major burglary ring.
The thieves targeted residential areas and construction sites city wide for more than a year. The items recovered include everything from jumping balloons to Harleys. Police say all this was found yesterday at a pair of lower valley homes on Gaspar and Pasodale streets.
Several motorcycles, nearly a dozen flat bed trailers, quad-runners, dune buggies, 40 to 50 bicycles, construction equipment, televisions, computers are just some of the more than $250,000 worth of goods police found. Investigators say this is part of a large undercover operation so they would not get into specifics about how the thieves were tracked down.
One resident says police recovered his dune buggy and a quad-runner, but he still missing a trailer and another quad. Police say there could still be $75,000 worth of stolen items still out there. "
